Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
Cipherly is an offline encryption app published by XniperBuilds. Your privacy is the entire point of the app, so this policy is short and simple.
The short version: Cipherly does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device.
Data we collect
None. Cipherly has no sign-up, no login and no cloud. We do not gather your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, usage analytics or crash data.
Your content
The text you encrypt, the notes in your Vault and the files you lock are processed and stored only on your own device. This content never leaves your phone and is never sent to us or to any third party. Vault notes are stored encrypted on the device.
Permissions
- Camera — used only if you choose to scan a QR code. Camera images are processed on-device and are not saved or transmitted.
- Biometric / Fingerprint — used only to unlock the app or Vault on your device. Your fingerprint never leaves the device and is handled by Android's secure hardware, not by Cipherly.
Sharing
When you tap Share, Android's own share sheet sends the output wherever you choose. Cipherly itself does not upload or forward anything.
Third parties
Cipherly contains no advertising SDKs, no tracking libraries and no third-party analytics in this version.
Children
Cipherly is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
